Time So Does Not Fly
Sitting at work, on a Monday morning with absolutely nothing to do. I already read 100 pages of my book this morning, the last 100 pages. There is not a single person here other than me, but I had to come in this morning because the phone usually rings constantly, but of course the one monday morning that I have nothing to do but answer the phones, is the one monday the phone doesn't want to ring more than once every 30 mins. I am now stuck waiting for the laundy to be done and wait patiently for the first client to show up at 3:00, in 3 HOURS! In the meantime I'm anxiously researching hints to the plot of the sequel to the book I just finished. It's called Fallen (the book I just finished, not the sequel...that's called Torment) it's wonderful, definetly putting it in Charisse's need to borrow from Brie pile. She'll be so please.
I'm anxious for the day to be over, today is the only day all week that I pull a double shift (salon from 8:30 -3:30, dairy queen from 4:30-10:00) then I only work at the salon until Sunday, which is great! I'm so excited, Chris is coming in less that 2 weeks. Our six month was yesterday, I just wish I could have seen him. I'm excited for his family to come to Minneapolis after the 4th too. Living in this area you take advantage of the many fun things to do, I seem to fall into a rut of always doing the same things, ie: Barnes and Noble, Applebees, Mall of America, and Caribou, all wonderful things mind you. I however do think that going to mystic and Valleyfair will be more fun with them. But i'm making Chris go to the Buffet with me if we go to mystic, I love the mousse there. :)
Nothing really more to say, which is disappointing, I was hoping writing would at least make some of the time go by, but it's only been approx. five minutes. sigh. Well, I shall just have to try to accomplish something here (the salon) then.

2 dollars
The $2 Bill. Everyone should start carrying them!
I am STILL laughing!! I think we need to quit saving our $2 bills and bring them out in public. The younger generation doesn't know they exist.
On my way home from work, I stopped at Taco Bell for a quick bite to eat. In my billfold are a $50 bill and a $2 bill. I figure that with a $2 bill, I can get something to eat and not have to worry about anyone getting irritated at me for trying to break a $50 bill.
Me: "Hi, I'd like one seven-layer burrito please, to go."
Server: "That'll be $1.04. Eat in?"
Me: "No, it's to go." At this point, I open my billfold and hand him the $2 bill. He looks at it kind of funny.
Server: "Uh, hang on a sec, I'll be right back."
He goes to talk to his manager, who is still within my earshot. The following conversation occurs between the two of them:
Server: "Hey, you ever see a $2 bill?"
Manager: "No. A what?"
Server: "A $2 bill. This guy just gave it to me."
Manager: "Ask for something else. There's no such thing as a $2 bill."
Server: "Yeah, thought so."
He comes back to me and says, "We don't take these Do you have anything else?"
Me: "Just this fifty. You don't take $2 bills? Why?"
Server: "I don't know."
Me: "See here where it says legal tender?"
Server: "Yeah."
Me: "So, why won't you take it?"
Server: "Well, hang on a sec."
He goes back to his manager, who has been watching me like I'm a shoplifter, and says to him, "He says I have to take it."
Manager: "Doesn't he have anything else?"
Server: "Yeah, a fifty. I'll get it and you can open the safe and get change "
Manager: "I'm not opening the safe with him in here."
Server: "What should I do?"
Manager: "Tell him to come back later when he has real money."
Server: "I can't tell him that! You tell him."
Manager: "Just tell him."
Server: "No way! This is weird. I'm going in back."
The manager approaches me and says, "I'm sorry, but we don't take big bills this time of night."
Me: "It's only seven o'clock! Well then, here's a two dollar bill."
Manager: "We don't take those, either."
Me: "Why not?"
Manager: "I think you know why."
Me: "No really, tell me why."
Manager: "Please leave before I call mall security."
Me: "Excuse me?"
Manager: "Please leave before I call mall security."
Me: "What on earth for?"
Manager: "Please, sir."
Me: "Uh, go ahead, call them."
Manager: "Would you please just leave?"
Me: "No."
Manager: "Fine -- have it your way then."
Me: "Hey, that's Burger King, isn't it?"
At this point, he backs away from me and calls mall security on the phone around the corner. I have two people staring at me from the dining area, and I begin laughing out loud, just for effect. A few minutes later this 45-year-oldish guy
Comes in.
Guard: "Yeah, Mike, what's up?"
Manager (whispering): "This guy is trying to give me some (pause) funny money."
Guard: "No kidding! What?"
Manager: "Get this .. A two dollar bill."
Guard (incredulous): "Why would a guy fake a two dollar bill?"
Manager: "I don't know. He's kinda weird. He says the only other thing he has is a fifty."
Guard: "Oh, so the fifty's fake!"
Manager: "No, the two dollar bill is."
Guard: "Why would he fake a two dollar bill?"
Manager: "I don't know! Can you talk to him, and get him out of here?"
Guard: "Yeah."
Security Guard walks over to me and......
Guard: "Mike here tells me you have some fake bills you're trying to use."
Me: "Uh, no."
Guard: "Lemme see 'em."
Me: "Why?"
Guard: "Do you want me to get the cops in here?"
At this point I am ready to say, "Sure, please!" but I want to eat, so I say "I'm just trying to buy a burrito and pay for it with this two dollar bill.
I put the bill up near his face, and he flinches like I'm taking a swing at him. He takes the bill, turns it over a few times in his hands, and says, "Hey, Mike, what's wrong with this bill?"
Manager: "It's fake."
Guard: "It doesn't look fake to me."
Manager: "But it's a two dollar bill."
Guard: "Yeah?"
Manager: "Well, there's no such thing, is there?"
The security guard and I both look at him like he's an idiot, and it dawns on the guy that he has no clue.
So, it turns out that my burrito was free, and he threw in a small drink and some of those cinnamon thingies, too.
Made me want to get a whole stack of two dollar bills just to see what happens when I try to buy stuff. If I got the right group of people, I could probably end up in jail. You get free food there, too.

Home
Well it's 12:35 and I've been up since 9 and accomplished nothing at all. My room is still looks like a bomb went off, too many boxes and I don't even know where to start. I still feel like my summer vacation hasn't started an unpacking would be pointless because i'm just going back to Vermillion in a couple of days but that is not the case. Yesterday I got to spend the day with Charisse, that was nice. I don't get to see her as much as I would like. It was a lot of fun though, our plan was to just go and get lunch but that quickly escalated into Target, the mall a movie and then dinner. :) That seems to always happen. So I didn't think i'd be getting very many hours at the salon until June but both of the day receptionists keep asking me to take their hours this week that I actually had to start telling them I couldn't take them. I'm already having to pull two double shifts this week now. Oh well, need the money, won't complain. I prefer busy days to boring ones anyway, right now i'm just sitting on the computer, doing nothing really, except waiting for Chris to text me back. It's rainy here and I just have no motivation to do anything... at all. So my plans for the day consist of showering and reading a book. Very eventful. I can't wait until the end of May so I can go visit Chris. I feel so pathetic sometimes but life is just so easy when i'm with him, and so obviously boring without him.

The End of Sophomore year
Well it's my last night in Vermillion for a while, and today was a crazy one. I started off by working from 10 to 6. That's is a very long time to be on your feet, and I was busy the entire time, it was crazy. Then I had about an hour before Chris and I went to my dorm room and packed everything up (almost) and then we carried my fridge, TV stand, and microwave down 8 flights of stairs and over to Chris's apartment. Now I'm kind of stressed about tomorrow. My dad thinks he'll get in at about 1:00, so 1:30! I have to be checked out of my dorm (which means everything out) at 12:30. Not sure how that'll work. I'll probably end up sitting in the parking lot with everything I own for an hour. Plus the day is stressful enough but what makes it worse is that Chris leaves early in the morning for his GRE exam. I'll have to go through the whole day not only not having him to help ease the stress but also having to go through the emotional stress of now knowing when I'm going to see him again. I didn't think I was going to get to work much over the next couple of weeks after I got home, which was just going to make me miss him more, but luckily Darcy texted me tonight asking me to work tuesday and thursday and then i'm working for Zyrah the following week. Then I'll get to see Chris the last week in May. We can do this. :)

Summers approaching
It's almost the end of the school year, classes are over and finals week is about to start. It's a bitter sweet feeling to be done. I am excited to be home and get to work so I can make some money. I miss my family and simple pleasures like barnes and noble and caribou, and of course Courtney and Charisse. However, I am really going to miss Chris and I wish I could bring him home with me. Hopefully we will get to see each other relatively often. I have so much to do in the next few days. My vocal showing is on Monday, along with 2 other finals, I work a zillion hours and then another final later in the week. I leave vermillion on Friday, and I feel like time is going way to fast!!
Ashley Joke of the Week
Two blondes lock thier keys in the car. One of the blondes tries to break into the car while the the other one watches.
Finally the first blonde says "Darn, I can't get in the car!" The other blond replies, "keep trying, it looks like it is going to rain and the top is down".
